Day to day and night, presents new and recent work by Sydney/Eora based artist, Elena Papanikolakis. Bringing together works created over a four-year period, this exhibition foregrounds notions of connection and continuity over time, whilst also acknowledging the breadth of disparate source material often underpinning Papanikolakis’ practice. Grounded in a journal-esque approach to creative practice involving collecting and sifting through a range of personal, cultural and found fragments, Day to day and night engages with themes including memory, cultural artefacts, and the natural world, via abstraction and figuration, and through paintings, collages, and text works on found book pages.
